Dr. Carla StokesGREETINGS FROM OUR FOUNDER

Dear HOTGIRLS Friends & Supporters,

Helping Our Teen Girls In Real Life Situations, Inc. (HOTGIRLS)® provides health and media education and leadership development programs for youth—especially those who reside in economically disadvantaged and medically underserved communities. We had another exciting and busy year working to make a difference in the lives of young women and girls.

Despite our limited resources in this challenging economy, we have worked diligently to address HIV/AIDS, violence against women and girls, and other important issues that disproportionately impact youth of color. As we begin the New Year, I would like to thank our supporters and share a few of our highlights and accomplishments from the past year:

In the coming year, we have an expanded vision of change, but we need your help to continue this work. We hope to reach thousands of young women and girls by expanding our Sisters Inspiring Sisters to Action (S.I.S.T.A).™ initiative (formerly known as the Young Women's Leadership Council) and launching our I Am Worth It! web site, however, our work is only possible with your financial support.

I urge you to support HOTGIRLS by giving whatever you can so that we can continue to train the next generation of women and girl leaders.  HOTGIRLS depends on supporters like you, and your tax-deductible contribution will make a tremendous difference in the lives of youth served by HOTGIRLS.

Can we count on you to help us raise essential funds to support our invaluable work?

Please take a look around our web site to learn more about our work and spread the word about HOTGIRLS among your family, friends, and colleagues and encourage them to consider making a donation to help support our important work. I thank you in advance for your generous support and wish you good health in the New Year.

With gratitude for your support,

"Dr. Carla" Stokes

P.S.: If you have comments, suggestions, or questions, please contact us. Click here for more information about our name and to read testimonials from young women and girls.

Hip Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes

HOTGIRLS is the Atlanta local community partner with Firelight Media and God Bless the Child Productions, Inc. in a year-long effort to use the Hip Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes film by Byron Hurt as a tool to help young people think critically about the increasingly violent and sexual imagery in commercial hip-hop, and American culture.
