Frequently Asked Questions

This section was designed to answer some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about HOTGIRLS. Some FAQs link to the section in which the subject is addressed. Please contact us if your question is not listed or is technical in nature.

* Note: This page is under construction and will be updated as we receive additional questions.

How can I become a volunteer?

There are several ways to get involved with HOTGIRLS. Volunteers are required to submit to a background check. Please click here for more information about ways to share your time and talent with HOTGIRLS. Note: We are not accepting new volunteers for direct work with girls at our service sites at this time (interested volunteers outnumber the girls in our programs).

Does HOTGIRLS have a chapter in my city?

HOTGIRLS is an Atlanta-based organization. However, we plan to expand our FIREGRL Club program in additional cities as we acquire additional resources and develop partnerships with other girl-serving organizations. We are in the process of creating an online directory of organizations that primarily serve black girls throughout the United States.  Please contact us if you would like to recommend an organization.

How can I sign my daughter up for the FIREGRL Club?

We are currently re-structuring the Girls’ Advisory Council and FIREGRL Club program and application process. All new participants will be required to submit an application demonstrating their interest in our programs and commitment to making a difference in their communities.

Can HOTGIRLS expand its programming to serve the specific needs of my organization?

HOTGIRLS is a small volunteer-led organization. We are in the process of building our organizational capacity and creating a strategic plan. While we have many plans for building and expanding our programs, we are unable to create additional programs that distract from our current objectives. Moreover, we do not currently have the resources to expand our programs without additional funding.

Can HOTGIRLS implement a workshop at my school or organization?

At this time, we are unable to offer workshops outside of our existing programs and summits for girls. Click here if you are interested in booking Dr. Carla Stokes for a potential speaking engagement.

When will the FIREGRL.com web site re-launch?

The FIREGRL.com web site is undergoing an extreme makeover and will re-launch in Spring 2008. We are creating interactive content and social networking features (i.e., blogs, message boards, clubs, etc.).

Does HOTGIRLS offer any employment opportunities?

HOTGIRLS is a small, grassroots, volunteer-led organization. Unfortunately, our small budget does not allow us to offer any paid employment opportunities at this time.

Does HOTGIRLS offer any paid internships?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer paid internships at this time. However, there are many ways to get involved as a volunteer.

Can I make an online donation?

We are in the process of setting up the capability to accept online donations. Please check back soon for updates. In the meantime, please consider supporting our work by mailing a donation. More information is available in our Donate section.
