"I Am Worth It!": HOTGIRLS 6th Annual Summit

About The Summit

The 2009 “I Am Worth It!” Summit will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Spelman College from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (registered participants will receive additional details during the week of April 27th). The “I Am Worth It” Campaign provides a platform for girls to affirm their self-worth and promote positive self-representations online and in their local communities -- while challenging harmful stereotypes about women and girls. The “I Am Worth It” web site also educates and informs teen girls about self-esteem and related health and teen issues. The summit provides a great opportunity for teen girls residing in the Atlanta metropolitan area to learn about and discuss healthy relationships, dating violence, cyber-bullying, body image, self-worth, self-esteem, images in the media and hip hop, and other important issues, while taking action to create social change in their communities.
