Daphne Cole

Daphne hails from Orlando, FL and is currently a sophomore psychology major at Spelman College, with a concentration in mental health. She is holds a part-time job at the Morehouse College Bookstore, where she works 16-20 hours a week and still finds time to stay active in H.O.T.G.I.R.L.S., Spelman's Psychology Club, and remain on the honor roll with a GPA of 3.45. Daphne plans to go on to graduate school to obtain her doctorate in psychology so that she can become a clinical psychologist. She plans to gain experience in research by completing the MBRS-Rise Summer Training Program at Spelman this summer and plans to apply for numerous others. Daphne enjoys working with H.O.T.G.I.R.L.S. because she feels it is important to address the concerns and issues of young African American girls that are so often ignored. She feels that her interaction with the girls while addressing mental health issues is a very rewarding and accommodating experience. She feels as if H.O.T.G.I.R.L.S. is an ideal organization to be a part of because it can help her grow as a person, build great relationships and apply many of the skills she is learning in psychology. Overall she feels there is no other organization like H.O.T.G.I.R.L.S. because of the relaxed atmosphere, creative activities and workshops, and most importantly the message.; Return to the YWLC Member Bios.
