Kristina Williams

My name is Kristina Williams and I am a Sophomore Chemistry major at Spelman College from Lumberton, NJ. I can be defined as a worker, a tutor, a friend, a sister, a volunteer, and a leader. It is very important to me, as a college student, to partake in activities that make a positive impact in my community.  I joined the Young Women's Leadership Council because the growing impact of HIV/AIDS in the community of African American women is definitely one of the biggest problems we face. In order to uplift our community this problem needs to be addressed. I plan to go to medical school and to use my degree to practice medicine, especially paying attention to the care of minorities and groups that are underrepresented in society. My goals include helping my community in any way possible, and the Young Women's Leadership Council is a great start.
