Volunteer Opportunities

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or if you have other skills you would like to contribute to HOTGIRLS or the FIREGRL.com web site for teen girls, please contact us. Volunteers are required to participate in training and submit to a background check (depending on the nature of the project or services provided). Note: We are not accepting new volunteers for direct work with girls at this time (interested volunteers outnumber the girls in our programs).

Corporate Giving
Are you part of an organization, corporation, or agency that might be interested in sponsoring our annual summit or special events? Do you know someone who is? If so, we would love to hear from you!

Fundraising
Do you have fundraising experience? HOTGIRLS needs your help with planning our 5-year anniversary fundraiser and other fundraising initiatives. Please contact us for more information.

Event Planning
Do you have experience planning events?  If so, HOTGIRLS may need your assistance for future events.

Publicity and Marketing
Do you have experience in public relations? If so, we are in need of pro bono public relations services.

FIREGRL.com Volunteer Opportunities

Are you a graphics designer?
We need volunteers to make cartoon dolls, icons, E-Cards, banners, blinkies, and other graphics for FIREGRL.com. Volunteers must be in tune with youth culture, as well as trends popular among black young women and girls. Volunteers must be familiar with graphic design software (i.e., Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Image Ready, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Paint Shop Pro, etc.). We do not offer graphics design training. We also accept original donated cartoon dolls from dollmakers. Please let us know if you have any original dolls to donate to our web site. Please contact us for guidelines.

Are you a health care provider? 
In the near future, we will be recruiting experienced health educators and health care providers with experience working with young women and girls for the FIREGRL.com Editorial Board. The Editorial Board reviews all health content for quality and accuracy before it is published on FIREGRL.com. Editorial Board members also respond to health questions submitted to FIREGRL.com. Desired specialties include: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Adolescent Medicine and Psychiatry.

Do you like to surf the Internet?
We are looking for female college students and young adults (18 or older) to help keep FIREGRL.com safe and fun by moderating FIREGRL forums, surfing interactive features on FIREGRL.com (i.e., clubs, home pages, blogs/journals, etc.), and responding to Hater Alerts. If you reside in the Atlanta metropolitan area and are interested in becoming a FIREGRL moderator, you must be available for face-to-face training in Atlanta.

FIREGRL.com Street Team
We are recruiting young women to help spread the word about FIREGRL.com in their communities.

Are you a young woman with a story to tell?
We are currently accepting submissions for FIREGRL.com. Young women and girls (ages 13-24) are invited to share their real life experiences with others by submitting personal stories, poetry, opinions, and artwork for publication on our upcoming web site. Stories can be submitted in standard English or slang, whichever you feel most comfortable writing. We are also accepting submissions from youth groups and youth-serving organizations on a variety of health and social issues. Please contact us for more information and a list of suggested topics.
